I'm thinking of replacing my heating or air conditioning systems, should I still get an Energy Audit?
Yes! By completing your energy audit first, you may become eligible for low cost loans or cash incentives up to $10,000 towards the cost of your new system. But you must have the energy audit performed before you install your new systems.

How long does an Home Energy Inspection take?
An Energy Audit takes 2 to 3 hours.

What Does it Cost?
Our typical energy auditing consultation is $125.

Do I need to be there during the inspection?
No, but we find that most homeowners want to be there. You will learn a lot about your home and its systems. The Diagnostic Technician will only need your direct attention for about 20 minutes.

Are any Tax Breaks available if I improve the efficiency of my home?
YES! In the fall of 2008 Congress reinstated tax credits for energy efficient home improvements. The tax credit is currently only available for improvements placed in service in 2009 or 2010, so act now to take advantage of these tax savings. See the Details Here!

Can my children and pets be in the house during the inspection?
Yes. The blower door test is a bit noisy, but not harmful in any way.

What are the most common problems in New Jersey homes?
It's usually not the windows! The most common problems are insulation deficiencies, air leakage and duct problems. All of these issues have low-cost, high-gain solutions.

What is a Blower Door Test?
We temporarily mount a calibrated, variable speed fan in a doorway to measure the relative tightness of the building and identify the major sources of air leakage.
